  • How to use a ratchet pruner:
  • 1. Allow the spring-loaded handle to open all the way.
  • 2. Place the branch that is to be cut, all the way into jaw, as far back as
  • possible.
  • 3. Squeeze the handles together, advancing the blade through the branch with
  • minimal effort.
  • 4. As soon as you need to squeeze harder to continue advancing the blade – STOP!
  • Do not keep squeezing.
  • 5. Open the pruner slightly until you hear a definite CLICK. – STOP again ! Do
  • not keep opening the blade any further.
  • 6. Squeeze again; it should be easier to advance the blade further into the branch.
  • Once you need to squeeze harder again, STOP – back up until the next CLICK.
  • 7. Then continue the same until the cut is complete.
  • 8. Make sure the cut is complete and all material severed. Do not pull or rip
  • fibers, capillary and bark at the end of the cut.
